ATMOSPHERE ANATOMIES, 2015
Research Assistant for Silvia Benedito for her upcoming book, Atmosphere Anatomies. Work primarily involved precedent studies of a selection of projects that design through the manipulation of atmosphere and micro-climates. Included climate studies, atmosphere visualization and original precedent drawings.
ZUS (Zones Urbaines Sensibles), 2014
Interned in Rotterdam, NL at ZUS, a highly interdisciplinary urbanism, architecture and landscape firm and winners of a Rebuild by Design competition with their proposal New Meadowlands. My work included landscape design on the Almere Dunescape, a dune based landscape urbanism project, the Luchtsingel, a crowdsourced pedestrian bridge through Rotterdam, and a number of other competitions, models and drawings.
WORK ac, 2013
Interned at WORK Architecture Company in New York, NY focussed on the African Nations Conference Center, L’Assemblée Radieuse, in Libreville, Gabon. I worked on design development for the landscape of the project, which features three large suspended landscape gardens within the building as well as an extensive site master plan. I was responsible for three other interns working through research, design and a DD drawing set. Responsibilities included but were not limited to grading and planting plans, as well as design of vertical gardens, paving and furniture.
MERGE ARCHITECTS 2012
Interned at Merge Architects building an extensive model of a housing project for client viewing and competition entries. The model was a hinged sectional model that included site, twelve units and furniture out of bass wood and plaster.
FREELANCE DESIGN, 2011-2013
Designed and built furniture on a freelance basis, most notably the Planter Table, which has been featured in numerous magazines and design blogs. Included were commissions of Planter Tables for the Richard Avedon Foundation and the Edgewater House and the furnishing of two restaurants in collaboration with Richard Wettstein.
Worked as a production and editing assistant for the documentary film, archiCULTURE. Tasks included assisting on shoots of various professionals in the field, transcribing interviews, promoting the film, writing for the blog and assisting in the editing of the film.
AMORPHOUS STUDIO 2010
Assisted in a metal shop specializing in architectural metal fabrication in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
MARTIN SCHOELLER STUDIO, 2007-2009
Worked as a second staff assistant for the well known editorial portrait photographer, Martin Schoeller, photographing celebrities, politicians and other prominent cultural figures. Shoot responsibilities were all encompassing from film loading, strobe lighting and set design etc. Studio work involved shoot production, archiving, exhibition planning, client correspondence.
FREELANCE FILM // PHOTOGRAPHY ASSISTANT, 2006-2011
Assisted photographers and film makers on a freelance basis for a variety of shoots from product to editorial portraiture to documentary films.
